Dr Sammad T Hashmi is a Consultant Psychiatrist with more than 30 years of experience across NHS and private practice. His work spans general adult psychiatry, neurodiversity, mental capacity, medico-legal work, occupational mental health and mediation.
Away from the formal profile, he is also an author, speaker and creator who enjoys turning complicated mental-health ideas into conversations people can actually use.

For decades, Dr Hashmi has worked with people facing a wide range of mental-health difficulties across adult psychiatry, neurodiversity, learning disability, child and adolescent mental health, capacity work, tribunal work and professional reporting.

Dr Hashmi is Bupa fee assured and recognised within General Psychiatry. His Platinum and Open Referral status has been effective since 20 August 2026. Eligibility and funding still depend on the individual member’s policy, authorisation and benefit limits.
Dr Hashmi’s creative work includes writing for adults and children, public speaking, video education and projects exploring decision-making, communication, tics, resilience and psychological wellbeing.
